L;VE ALOHA ATHLETICS is a division of the L;VE ALOHA Foundation (www.livealohafoundation.com) created to bring the Foundation’s mission and message into athletic communities. The L;VE ALOHA Foundation was established in honor of Lance “Bo” Chavez, a United States Marine Corps veteran who died by suicide on September 19, 2022. Inspired by Bo’s life and the aloha he shared with others, the Foundation works to shatter the silence and stigma surrounding veteran suicide, support suicide-loss survivors, and help fund mental health resources for veterans and grief programs for children who have lost a parent to suicide. L;VE ALOHA ATHLETICS expands that mission into the world of sports. Its focus is the athlete as a whole and the powerful role sports can play in building connection, confidence, resilience, teamwork, purpose, and community. Through tournaments, clinics, travel teams, athletic events, partnerships, sponsorships, scholarships, player recognition, and community initiatives, L;VE ALOHA ATHLETICS will create meaningful experiences for athletes and their families while continuing to spread aloha and honor Bo’s legacy. At its heart, L;VE ALOHA ATHLETICS is about more than competition—it’s about promoting mental health awareness, bringing people together, building meaningful connections, and reminding every athlete that they matter on and off the field.
